Nicholas Benes
Nicholas Benes is Representative Director of The Board Director Training Institute of Japan (BDTI), a non-profit “public interest” organization formed in late 2009 and certified by the Japanese government to provide director training and programs about corporate governance. BDTI is making good progress in offering programs, but because the concept of “director training” is a new one in Japan, it needs the support of investors in the Japanese market in order to expand and thrive. Already, major institutional investors such as Aflac, Fidelity, Baillie Gifford, and the Chubb Group have lent their support as “Special Sponsors”.
Mr. Benes is an inactive member of the bar in California and NY, has lived in Japan for 30 years, and previously was an investment banker at JP Morgan.
